FAQ

Vehicle transfer — common questions

How do I fill Form 29 and Form 30 for vehicle ownership transfer?

Enter the seller, purchaser and vehicle details once above, and download Form 29 (notice of transfer), Form 30 (report of transfer) and both affidavits as one print-ready PDF in the official CMVR format. Print, get signatures, affix the court fee stamp on the affidavits, and submit the file at your RTO / DTO.

Do I need anything besides Form 29 and 30 for a transfer?

Most RTOs also ask for a seller's and buyer's affidavit (both included in this package by default), and sometimes Form 28 (NOC) if the vehicle is moving to another state, or Form 35 if a loan on the vehicle has just been closed — both are offered as suggestions once you've filled the main package above.

Is this the official government form?

Yes — the layout follows the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 format exactly, the same one used nationwide. This is an independent tool, not a government website; always verify with your RTO/DTO before submission.
